This fund offers lottery cash to community groups for Energy Audits and to carry out energy efficient improvements to their buildings etc. Grants are available from £2000-£10,000 to carry out these energy efficient measures. More information can be obtained from (www.biglotteryfund.org.uk).
We are providing EPCs for the month of Nov.2019 only at the cheapest possible prices - EPCs will cost from £60 for a semi-detached 3 bedroom house. We believe we provide the most accurate, Professional Energy Services at the cheapest possible prices.
Air Tightness Testing.
Air leakage is the uncontrolled flow of air through the building envelope, created by structural damage, weather, poor finish, design or deterioration of the materials.More information can be obtained from-
We use the Retrotec Q46 Blower Door system to carry out Air Tightness Tests. This system is regarded as the market leader and used with a Thermal Imaging Camera, or Smoke Tester, will pinpoint leaks in the building envelope. The Smoke Testers are the safest TiCl4 testers available, since there are no chemicals to pour.
The amount of Air Leakage is based on the pressure difference over a construction using the unit Pascal. 10 Pascal = 1kg force/m2.
The RETROTEC Q46 BLOWER DOOR is the newest, most advanced, house Air Tightness Testing system available. The Q46 performs fully automatic testing using a laptop and the advanced regulated speed control circuit is less affected by wind. It is well suited to carry out both Commercial and Domestic Air Tightness Testing. (www.retrotec.com).
Non Domestic EPCs. (Commercial EPCs).
Commercial EPCs are now mandatory upon construction, sale or rental of any Commercial building, whether new or existing. An assessment must be carried out by an Accredited Energy Assessor and an EPC generated, which gives the building a rating of 'A' to 'G'-most efficient to least efficient.
The EPC is also accompanied by an Advisory Report (AR) which outlines ways in which energy can be saved and provides recommendations that include the short, medium and long term paybacks of various green technologies.
The implementation of these recommendations would reduce the buildings C02 emissions as well as fuel costs.
Approved Document L2A-2006 of the Building Regulations stipulates a full building energy calculation for all newly constructed buildings.
The Simplified Building Energy Mode (SBEM) software used to produce this documentation is then used to create the EPC which is required prior to the building being occupied. EPCs are currently required for the new Renewable Heat Incentive scheme.

Loft Insulation is one of the most energy efficient things we can do to make our homes more comfortable and save up to 30% on our fuel bills. Current Building Regulations recommend a depth of 270mm as being the most energy efficient, anything above that is not giving significant greater efficiencies.
